Econorisk was founded in 2001 as a proudly South African business through a strategic partnership with economic market analyst leaders Econometrix. It is also a subsidiary of South African investment holding company Cyan Capital, with its wide array of investments in the local short-term insurance industry. This kind of parentage, underpinned by an incredible work ethic and some of the best skills in the industry, meant it didn’t take long for Econorisk to emerge as one of South Africa’s leading independent risk and short-term insurance advisory businesses.
Today, we operate primarily in the commercial and corporate segment of the market for insurance service. As part of a much larger group of companies with extensive partners and shareholders, we are able to offer a far more comprehensive service than many conventional brokers in the market. Econorisk proudly holds binder agreements with most of South Africa’s leading A-rated insurers. Where required, we also have access to global markets via correspondent broker arrangements into Lloyd’s of London and other international facilities. This enables us to offer you a complete set of insurance products required to meet your unique needs.
We credit some of our success to our ability to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with both our clients and insurers. Since the very beginning, we have sought to differentiate ourselves through our obsession with personal client service and retention. We are focused on serving our clients to the best of our ability whether they are businesses, associations, major corporations, or individual policyholders.
With our Head Office in Johannesburg and two regional offices in Cape Town and Durban, we have assembled an experienced team of people with business partners capable of meeting all the diverse, risk-related needs of our clients. Econorisk is a member of the Financial Intermediaries Association.
Committed to Transformation
Transformation plays an important role in our country’s growth.
It’s also something we consider carefully when establishing supplier and other relationships.
Committed to Our Communities
Over the years Econorisk has earned a reputation for being an upstanding corporate citizen. We work with uncertainty all the time, which makes any opportunity to uplift our communities closer to home that much sweeter.
We also want to create shared value for our employees, shareholders, and stakeholders.
Econorisk has identified four key areas of responsibility: Environment, Skills, Community and Preferential Procurement. We mindfully commit time, resources, and goodwill towards these areas, much like we do in the rest of our business – in a way that maximises impact and epitomises the Econorisk brand.
