Barking Success for TEARS Animal Rescue and Team Econorisk

With your support, we raised more than a quarter of a million rand in the TEARS Animal Rescue Sleepathon 2017 Team Challenge!

TEARS 2017 Sleepathoners collectively raised over R250,000 this year, sleeping in kennels overnight for the TEARS Animal Welfare fundraiser and awareness drive. This is the second year that Brett Schultz has taken part in the charity event and this time he was joined by Econorisk team members, Annelize Douglas, Bronwyn Williams, Bronia le Roux, Chéreen Willett and Nabu Parker.

We are exceptionally proud of all the volunteers and very happy to announce that Brett and the Econorisk team won the award for the most money raised at the event. With your support, their night sleeping with rescue animals in the TEARS kennels means that more dogs and cats can be lifted from the pain of abuse and given life-saving medical care. Many will experience full bellies and clean water for the first time in their lives, a warm night’s sleep, and hopefully a chance to feel loved and safe in a forever home… where they long to be.

Because of your generosity, these are miracles that will continue to happen! From all of us at Econorisk, as well as the staff and animals at TEARS, we thank you for your generous contribution towards the TEARS Animal Rescue Sleepathon 2017 and for supporting this most special of breed: the rescue dogs and cats.

If you would like to continue to support TEARS Animal Rescue, or have not yet had a chance to do so, they are in desperate need of donations to keep their furries warm this winter and off the streets.

Purr-lease donate any spare blankets, towels, sheets or bedding you may have or pledge your support via the TEARS Warm a Winter Heart Campaign website page. Alternatively you can drop off your donation at a TEARS charity shop or at your local Econorisk office.
