What is Tyre Protection Insurance?

Even the most careful drivers can be caught unaware by potholes and uneven roads.

Tyre insurance covers the repair or replacement costs of tyres and rims damaged by unexpected road hazards, such as potholes, debris, and kerbs. It operates separately from standard comprehensive car/personal insurance policies, protecting you from out-of-pocket expenses for tyre-related damages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Econorisk offers three tyre protection packages to suit your needs and budget:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold

Each package provides different levels of cover, allowing you to choose the option that best matches the value of your tyres.

Betterment refers to a deduction made when a tyre is replaced, based on the wear and tear of the tyre.
This deduction is calculated by:

  • Measuring the tread already used
  • Converting that into a percentage of total tread wear
  • Applying this percentage to the replacement value according to a specified table.

A Betterment Waiver helps reduce or eliminate this deduction, meaning you pay less out of pocket when replacing a damaged tyre.

The policy includes the following additional items when a tyre is repaired or replaced: Wheel balancing and valve caps.
